The D-Link 10GBASE SFP+ Module Series transceivers offer customers a widevariety of 10G Ethernet connectivity options for data centers, enterprise wiring closets, and service providertransport applications.Enhanced Small Form-factor Pluggable FormatThe transceivers use the Enhanced Small Formfactor Pluggable format (SFP+). The SFP+ form factoris smaller than other form factors such as Xenpak,X2, and 10G XFP, ensuring lower costs, lower powerdisruption, and higher port density. They providethe necessary signal amplification for data to betransmitted to the network cable from the port, andvice versa, for the port to receive data from thenetwork cable.Hot PluggableAll D-Link transceivers are hot-pluggable. You canconnect a transceiver while the system is poweredon without causing any problems. This permitsmodules to be added or removed without interruptingthe network.10G Ethernet speedsThe transceivers all support 10G Ethernet, whichresults in very fast data transmissions of up to 10Gbit/s. This is 10 times faster than Gigabit Ethernetand enables the switch to handle faster and higherdata transmissions, making it very suitable forbusiness needs.Digital Diagnostics Monitoring (DDM)Several of the 10G SFP+ Modules1 feature DDM realtime monitoring of critical parameters, includingtransmitted and received power, temperature, andvoltage. This allows for convenient monitoring ofthe module’s fiber connection and early detection ofproblems.Bi-directional WDM transmission2Bi-directional WDM transmission allows data tobe transmitted simultaneously in both directionson a fiber cable. This helps you save on the cost ofdeploying extra fiber cables as well as allows formore flexible bandwidth allocation.
